Visited for afternoon tea Feb 2024. Lovely meet and greet on arrival and shown to the restaurant. Very impressed with the decor. Food was very tasty with some lovely intense flavours (especially the mushroom ketchup), although scones were quite bland and dry. Tea pots were only half full - would have been nice to have been full up without having to ask for second pot (didn't know if we were allowed a second pot). Service was very good, although there was a lack of staff readily available in the dining room if anything was needed. Will re-visit for dinner next time. See you soon.less

Pretentious and rude greeting as soon as we got there. We had a reservation and were seated without all the place settings. We were left for 20+ minutes before anyone came to the table. We got another place setting and water glass then. We ordered drinks and food. We waited another 25 minutes for a partial order. We were served dip without the bread and another plate was missing. We waited another 20 minutes without seeing our server and stopped another person to ask about the rest of our order. Our water glasses sat empty. They brought the rest of our order out. The food was fine - way over priced. We waited another 15 minutes after we finished eating and our glasses empty before we had to go inside to get the bill and pay. Would not recommend.less

We had dinner for three. The food was fresh, delicious and beautifully served. Our lovely waitress recommended the gnocchi, which was indeed wonderful. The fish was also very tasty, as were our ice cream desserts. The service was absolutely superb. The atmosphere is very relaxing and pleasant. The place is gorgeous with everything around so green. Highly recommended!less

Usually wonderful place to eat & service is generally second-to-non - however our last experience left us with shabby memories - fairly busy restaurant towards end of service for the afternoon (so most customers were at the end of their meals) - we were sat in the Orangery/Conservatory as we had the dogs with us - absolutely fine - there were of us & 3 starters were ordered ( upgraded to the larger servings as we explained to our Server that we would be sharing) when they arrived - one was totally sufficient the other two dishes were small all of which lacked any presentation - when I enquired to another server as to if the order had gone through correctly & maybe the two dishes hadn't been ordered as larger - she was not interested - retorted that she'd had this issue raised by countless customers & would relay our comments to the kitchen as she had done so on numerous occasions before ~ with that she turned on her heel & left us?!!! We sat dumbfounded & waited a while in case she returned - but she didn't so we humbly finished our starters & waited for main course - food that arrived was fine but had sat on 'the pass' for an age as it was barely warm - but there weren't any staff as they were all busy now clearing almost empty restaurant & rooms adjacent. Needless to say further drinks weren't ordered as we couldn't attract attention - Cheeseboard was delicious ~ in daughters opinion she considered the Cheeseboard outstanding - my Coffee was poor - overall felt 'in the way' - paid just over £230 - which I think for a wonderful cheeseboard & dismissive staff was steep. Would we go again? Quite probably - as with the dogs it's generally the most beautifully presented venue - would we book that late for lunch again? Most definitely not!less

We experienced the full selection this place has to offer. BREAKFAST: We had breakfast a few times here and it never disappointed. The quality of the food and particularly the quality of service from the staff was impeccable. Decent value for money, peaceful location, pet friendly and very tranquil. LUNCH: We had both snacks and a more substantial lunch after we went for a swim. Again, the staff was excellent and very attentive and the chap behind the bar even taught me a thing or two about one of my favourite Japanese Whiskeys. The ambiance of the place is excellent - the bar area wasn't overly busy and there are games available to entertain on a wet and grey British day like the ones we experienced. DINNER: We had a couple lovely dinners here. We were unable to sit outside but enjoyed the warmth and ambiance of the property inside. The staff again were always impeccable and very informative. The food was top quality, service was better than expected and undoubtedly we would return.less
